James Maliszewski is a Traveller author, contributor, and fan.

Description (Biography)[edit]

James has designed and written for Atlas Games, GDW, Green Ronin Publishing, Wizards of the Coast, and White Wolf, among many others.

  • He has written for several major roleplaying game lines, including Ars Magica, BESM, D20 Modern, GURPS, Hunter: The Reckoning, Storyteller: Dark Ages, in addition to Traveller.
  • James founded his own small press company in 2007.
  • Called Rogue Games, the company published Thousand Suns, a science fiction roleplaying game inspired by many of the same "Imperial SF" authors and stories as Traveller.
  • James currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada but considers Baltimore, Maryland to be his home.

James Maliszewski was born in the Netherlands, grew up in Baltimore, and attended university in Annapolis, Washington, D.C., and Toronto. He originally believed his calling was to teach the world about the wonders of medieval and early modern philosophy, but soon realized he could just as readily be ignored by becoming a freelance writer -- and have more fun in the process. Since 1999, he has contributed to many gaming products, most notably various d20 lines (including Star Wars and Iron Kingdoms), the Dark Ages lines, Exalted, Fading Suns, Gear Krieg the Roleplaying Game, and Hunter: The Reckoning. He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with his wife, two children, and a Captain Kirk action figure, and is currently hard at work on his science fiction roleplaying games, Fourth Millennium and Thousand Suns, both to be published by his company, Rogue Games.
