Description (Specifications)[edit]
These vehicles are part of the Imperial class Grav APC family.
The Point Defence APC is the vehicle that combines anti-aircraft, anti-missile and anti-artillery fire into a single platform. However, dedicated point-defence vehicles cannot be everywhere. Point Defence vehicles are generally limited to high-value targets, such as Headquarters, artillery concentrations, logistics nodes, etc. Although nearly all the Imperial class Grav APC family have a point defence capability, none have the rate of fire and fire control for area defence.
Typical deployments will be:
Section of:
- 3x Imperial class Grav APC - Point Defense
- 1x Command Vehicle
The command vehicle allows the section to access the situational data needed to most effectively deploy to provide the needed area protection.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This design was developed as the joint Imperial Marines/Imperial Army solution in the Imperial class Grav APC family.
Those Imperial Marines facing the Zhodani Consulate and Sword Worlds Confederation in the Spinward Marches Sector had fully upgraded to be using these systems in time for the Fifth Frontier War.
