Hessian

Hessians are legitimate government-owned military units that are hired out to other powers as mercenaries.

Description (Specifications)

This is usually done for money, though there are cases when the military of one world is subsidized by its neighbors for mutual defense of a region. Like Condotterie units, Hessians are valued for their loyalty to their employers, and they tend to be of very high quality and tight discipline. Some Hessian units are held to their employers by historical events or shared esprit de corps; examples of this include Terra's vaunted Gurhkas, Mean Dean's Mob, Cheryl's Champions, Kim's 43rd Royal Guards, the A7 Security Battalion of Mengo (world) and the Vatican's Swiss Guard.
