The Advanced Ground Car is a type of Ground Car.
Description / Specifications[edit]
The Advanced Ground Car is a sophisticated vehicle designed for the civilian market.
Hull / Suspension[edit]
A boxy, generally streamlined hull constructed from metals and plastics.
- Length: 4m, Width: 1.5m, Height: 1.7m.
- Overall Volume: approximately 10.2m³ (0.8 dTons).
- Unloaded Weight: 1,200 kg.
The overall volume measures the vehicles maximum dimensions and includes road clearance. The contained volume of the contoured hull is substantially lower.
The vehicle is fitted with a wheeled suspension system mounted on axles.
- The vehicle performs excellently on metalled surfaces but has a relatively limited off-road capability.
Power / Transmission[edit]
A large power plant consisting of fuel cells and batteries. The power plant drives electric motors set into the axles.
Performance
- Cruise Speed 110 kph, Top Speed 150 kph. Off-road speed less than 25 kph.
- Range 1400 km at cruise, 1000 km at top speed.
Crew / Passengers[edit]
The crew compartment consists of a centrally located enclosed cabin fitted with clear windows and containing two front seats and two rear seats – an additional passenger can be accommodated on the rear seat though such arrangements are cramped. The seating is fitted with safety belts. The vehicle has basic environmental protection (the hull is weatherproof but is not sealed) and is fitted with interior lights and air conditioning. The driver's position is equipped with advanced mechanical controls. A console / heads-up display provides data such as velocity and component status.
A small luggage trunk is located at the rear of the vehicle.
- Cargo Storage: 0.4m³. If the rear seats are stowed flat the internal cargo storage becomes 3.4m³, but only the driver and one passenger may be accommodated.
- Maximum Load: 650 kg (including passengers) before performance is impaired.
Equipment[edit]
Headlights and running lights. A small (typically 50 km range) communications and navigation system. The vehicle is fitted with proximity sensors, an onboard computer management system and a variety of driver aids.
History / Background[edit]
A sophisticated ground car available in a variety of body styles and colors. Vehicles of this kind are produced in large numbers and are broadly available (at very competitive prices) from showrooms in many urban areas.
