Dvenovia is a rich world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in size.
- This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
- This world has a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Most observers think that the planet's economy and population will prosper further in the near future barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Krotan Primacy in the Gerockne Subsector of Gzirr!k'l Sector.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Dvenovia has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Dvenovia has a population of 800,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- The majority of the population are Krotan.
- Krotan world statistics represent all adult and mobile Krotan. The "shoals" on a given world will hold around 100 sessile pre-adult, senescent or post-adult Krotan for every active adult.
World Languages[edit]
Krotan communicate through audible shell vibrations. With aliens, the Krotan rely on computerised translators. The planet name is representative of nouns as translated into Humanoid-suitable speech.
- Krotan is highly efficient, both detailed and terse.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Dvenovia possesses a Technology Level of TL–1.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Runners or beast relay and long distance signaling such as the heliograph and semaphore.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Muscle power and water wheels.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Riding animals, rickshaws, carts or other creature-drawn wheeled vehicles.
- Water: Rowed galleys and early sailing vessels.
- Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability or ride-able flying beasts available.
World Government (G)[edit]
Dvenovia has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
- Note that Krotan do not actually factionalise as most species do. Adult Krotan are a stage in the species' lifecycle between sessile youth and equally sessile old age -- every Krotan adult knows that they came from the shoal and will return to it. Disagreement is resolved by the shoal or dealt with through classic Krotan avoidance strategy, ignoring the other party.
- A Balkanized government rating among Krotan likely indicates that several distinct shoals are present in different parts of the planet; there is likely no conflict between them. Alternatively, it could refer to different shoals ignoring one another as part of the "shelling out" avoidance strategy.
World Military[edit]
The Krotan have no dedicated military but maintain something like a militia, where individuals learn basic combat skills should they be necessary to protect their world. Their personal weapon technology is relatively primitive for their Tech Level, because they find heavy weapons to be the most efficient way to deal with opposition.
