Demon's Eye Rift

The Demon's Eye Rift is a name given to the area of empty interstellar space in the center of Far Home Sector.

• The rift is occasionally referred to as the Socket.

Description / Specifications

The rift has dimensions of around 13 parsecs coreward-rimward by 9 parsecs spinward-trailing. The center of the rift is dominated by the intensely bright blue-white Demon's Eye supergiant star and the bright, reddish-hued Demon's Eye Nebula, an emission nebula that surrounds it.

History & Background / Dossier

The rift presents a considerable obstacle to navigation. Trade routes, most notably the Void Edge Star Lane, track around its margins.
