Deep-Water Brakarr

Marine animals native to Walston (Spinward Marches 1232).

They are named for their similarity to a shallow-water animal encountered on other worlds; the species are not actually related. The Deep-Water Brakarr looks like a fish with an armored head, from behind which extend manipulative tentacles. When moving at speed these are swept back; on the attack they grab prey and pass it to the mouth. Deep-Water Brakarr over 1.5m long and massing as much as an adult human have been sighted in coastal waters. They are aggressive and can decimate farmed fish stocks if not driven off.
