The Crystal Wall of Knoellighz is an astrographic feature of a socio-economic nature.

Description (Specifications)

The so-called "Crystal Wall" of Knoellighz Sector is a social barrier that is both racial and political, whereupon Vargr become stymied in their dealings with the Zhodani Consulate.

• Whether it is starship, starport, startown, or rural encounters, this difference in mindset grinds the interaction to a halt until some common ground of interchange can be agreed upon. This is partially due to the standoffishness of the Zhodani, who find the Vargr to be wild and chaotic.
• In return, the Vargr of the sector find the Zhodani to be robotic, lifeless, or 'crystallized'.
• Not all is lost to each, as the Zhodani find that they can more readily do business quick-and-dirty with the canine Uplifts; likewise, the Zhodani are predictable and less inclined to haggle with Vargr merchants, accepting a price with fewer growls and snarls and less baring of teeth.

History & Background (Dossier)

Since the Zhodani Consulate fully backs its people's expansion into Knoellighz Sector, its borders reach Rimward to Coreward in an almost uniform curve.

• This seemingly unified front presents the mental image to Vargr that there is both a social push and a wall-like border, slowly encroaching its frontier.
• The Infinity League, Ascendancy Pact and Democracy of Greats grate themselves, in different ways and intensities, against the "Crystal Wall" of the Zhodani Consulate, probing for weaknesses; testing the spacial border and the emotional coolness, unified causality, and apparent hive-like uniformity of the mindset that permeates the polity.
• This unity when compared to the fractured and ever-changing polities of the Vargr in Knoellighz Sector (and the Extents in general) has some Emissaries working overtime.
