Communications Specialist is a role that has been around since the first Yeomen of Signals - an ancient and honourable title.

Being the Communications Specialist has not always been an easy or safe role - ships communications systems have been the first target of attacks since the early days of radio.

Modern specialists may have to use anything from flags and flashing lights through telephone, radio, maser and fibre-optics to meson beams. They know ancient telegraph codes and phonetic alphabets as well as code management and encryption methods.
