Cimmeria has a trace atmosphere and almost no surface water. The system has a population between 100 million and a billion sophonts. The world has a colony on Imgaa (Dagudashaag 1409). This is a cold world with an overall climate at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Ushra Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Cimmeria, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdoms of a marquis and a viscount. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. During the Long Night this world was named Dide Am.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
This world is almost tidally locked. It rotates once every 35 standard days while orbiting its star, Crom, every 46.7 days. This results in the nights on Cimmeria being extremely cold.
History and Background[edit]
The population, mostly composed of Scandinavians, has remained within the original five settlements, each of which has become an independent state. Because of politically motivated aggression between the settlements conflict and war has become a permanent feature of Cimmerian life. To prevent disaster befalling the settlements such conflicts have become ritualized in style and are fought on Sonya, one of the outer worlds, to prevent civilian casualties. These wars are holovised and the winning "teams", volunteers all, are treated as local celebrities.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Cimmeria has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Government (G)[edit]
Cimmeria has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
- There are five nations, each centered on one of the world's initial colony sites.
