The smaller of two spaceports on Sparks. This port specialises in goods in transit to Sparks itself and includes extensive storage facilities for Air, Water, Food, etc.
There is an impressive container storage facility that is housed in a geological fissure. The sides are racked and containers are hung from there - access being provided by automated, grav-powered cargo handlers.
This has an adjacent, facility for small yachts (the South Port Yacht Harbour) with over 200 berths catering for visiting vessels of up to 300 dTons (mostly 50 dTons or less).
The flashiest building visible on the surface is the Asteroid Racing Association Building, which overlooks the yacht port and is covered in gold leaf.
Transport Connections[edit]
The South Pole Spaceport is connected to the Red Line of the Sparks Hyperloop.
A 5km long vehicle tunnel connects the South Pole Spaceport to the adjacent South Port Yacht Harbour.
