Build Up[edit]
Faith was settled in 278 by New Heaven as a centre for administration of the area under their jurisdiction. However, this was on land that had been administered by the Llamas Government. New Heaven argued that the area was terra-nullis, while the Llamas Government asserted that the land was a designated reserve. This divergence of opinion resulted in police action to evict the settlers but this was opposed by the New Heaven Government and a running battle broke out. By the end of the week, the entire region north of the Great Crater Lake was ablaze as the militaries on both sides clashed. This was the Third Crater War.
The Siege[edit]
In 289, Llamas staged a major naval landing capturing Faith. New Heaven scrambled together a defensive force and the troops became pinned within 50km of the beach head. With insufficient forces to break in, and with Llamas having inadequate forces to break out, the region staggered into a stalemate and stayed that way for the next two and a half years. Much of the war was fought in the ruins of the new settlements - very little in the way of buildings were still standing by the final time of the cease-fire.
