Campaign:NHNE/Places/Faith
Description[edit]
A port on the Great Crater Lake.
The port is famous for its 1000m tall memorial to the martyrs of the Third Crater War.
History[edit]
This Faith was settled in 278 by New Heaven as a centre for administration of the area under their jurisdiction. However, this was on land that had been administered by the Llamas Government. New Heaven argued that the area was terra-nullis, while the Llamas Government asserted that the land was a designated reserve. This divergence of opinion resulted in police action to evict the settlers but this was opposed by the New Heaven Government and a running battle broke out. By the end of the week, the entire region north of the Great Crater Lake was ablaze as the militaries on both sides clashed. This was the Third Crater War.
In 289, Llamas staged a major naval landing capturing Faith. The area was besieged by the New Heaven army until the final armistice in 291. Little of the towns infrastructure remained at this point.
After the war, this was one of the locations that was quickly rebuilt - a prestige project and one that enabled the other settlements on the lake shore to be properly administered by the New Heaven Government. The town's trade possibilities were never fully recognised due to the hard-feelings of the people of Llamas - the ports main trading partners.
