Description

The Recognition War (43 to 49) was the result of New Heaven denying that Shelter was a separate government. Shelter could not accept this and when New Heaven attempted "re-integration", the two states came into open conflict.

The war ground on for six years before the two states finally struck an uneasy peace (technically a cease-fire). Formal recognition by New Heaven came in the year 56 as a result of a major Peacekeeping force deployed on the border in the year 55 and after New Heaven was threatened with expulsion from the New Earth Council.

Awards

Those troops who served in the peacekeeping between 55 and 56 were issued the below campaign ribbon by the New Earth Council.

Selected troops and other volunteers fighting for New Heaven were awarded a pin (below) in 56.
