Campaign:NHNE/Equipment/La Dolce Vita/Floorplans
Deck Organisation[edit]
Making use of the new artificial gravity and inertial compensator technologies, this vessel has moved to a deck plan perpendicular to the axis of thrust of the engines. In the plans, forward is up, starboard is right. Thus the craft can settle on its belly when landed far more comfortably than older designs.
There are three decks. The top two are 3m high and the lowest is 6m high - to allow two standard 10 dTon containers to be stood one on top of the other, or to allow larger military equipment adequate head-room. When full the hold contains 16 containers stacked cross-wise, 8 in a row, 2 high.
Deck 1: Boat Deck[edit]
Ships Boat Dock[edit]
This tight-fitting dock allows access to the ships boat via the forward airlock. The cargo door may be unsealed but not fully opened. There is no equivalent entry into the main vessel and opening that door will expose the ship boat's cargo bay to the external environment.
The ships boat is secured in the bay by 9 retractable docking clamps. (3 each side, ventral, forward and aft) These clamps are tested to be capable of restraining the ships boat at accelerations of up to 10G by the main vessel.
The door to the main corridor has an extensible, airtight collar that allows access to the ships boat without de-pressurising any part of the main vessel.
The clamps and collar may be engaged/released from aboard the ships boat, or from the door to the bay (both sides) or from the bridge of the main vessel.
When the ship-boat is absent, the space is open to the external environment. As a recessed space, it is subject to filling with water and it is fitted with a 10mm drain to prevent this. Rods for clearing this are held in the ships-lockers.
Grav Vehicle Dock[edit]
The Grav-Vehicle dock is covered by an opening roof which is airtight when closed. It has 8 dTons of space and is 3m by 12m by 3m high in size.
Users of the room are advised to ensure the manual latches are engaged on the roof-hatch if they are working here.
This is NOT a vehicle workshop hanger - it is designed to operate just as a garage.
Fuel Tankage, Fresh Water, Water Filtration[edit]
There are two compartments containing fuel tanks. The forward also contains a fresh-water tank and the aft also contains part of the water filtration/recycling system.
Fuel is stored as Liquid Hydrogen. The two tanks are each 2.5 dTons and are capable of supplying the fusion generator for 4 weeks and of completely resupplying the ship-boat.
The spaces have pressure-relief valves in case of a build up of pressure, and have specialist hydrogen detectors in case of leaks.
Main Corridor[edit]
Sensor Dome[edit]
This external sensor dome contains navigation/search radar covering slightly more than the quarter sphere from forward to vertical and port to starboard quarters. It is fared into the hull to allow for atmospheric airflow during re-entry.
Access is from below.

Bridge[edit]
Safe[edit]
This is a 0.7 dTon installation (2m by 1.5m by 3m external dimensions with 1.5m by 1m x 2.5m internal dimensions). This was installed as this vessel was initially intended as a bullion transport. It is not known to have ever been used in this role.
With 25cm thick composite walls including a crystal-iron outer casing and at least 1 diamond-layer internally, this is a very tough space to get into mechanically. The door has both electronic and mechanical key elements.
