Shelter had been established by New Heaven dissidents/heretics and were fearful for their lives. As a result, they began manufacture of a weapon that could be easily formed and maintained and required little instruction or maintenance. The Durga-18 Assault Rifle was the answer.
The manufacture has continued under various corporations and it is currently manufactured by New Chennai Inc. There have been many other "Homemade" versions produced through the centuries.
The Durga-18 Assault Rifle is designed to use standard 7mm rifle ammunition.
