New Earth Bank is the central bank for the system. It is the lender of last resort and the Mint. It is the one central institution for control of the money supply.
History[edit]
The New Earth Bank is what happens when the Purser's department of The Fleet becomes the main inter-bank settlement agency for the de-facto system-wide currency.
These days only Governments and registered Financial Institutions are direct clients of the New Earth Bank.
The New Earth Bank started life with a very close relationship with the Hatcher Dynasty, but gained independence from both that dynasty and The Fleet in 43 when it became an agency of New Earth Council and ownership was distributed between member governments.
