CDS-4A ACV/GEV, TL 11[edit]

Built on Cydia (world) for commando missions. These TL–11 vehicles are not rated for Protected Forces duty. Captain Jona envisioned a plasma gun carrier with a pair LMGs for his commando company Jona's Juggernaut of Justice or J3 as it is also known. What he got is a little different and three of these form his reconnaissance platoon. Their primary function has evolved into providing overwatch close range point defense for the other assets in the unit to protect from enemy missiles, rockets, and indirect fire missions. Their precious point defense fire control is responsible for almost 52% of their unit cost. This small unit has 12 crew members assigned and carries 24 dismounts. They are not the fastest vehicle in the unit. Modestly armored to save weight, and the raise the power to weight ratio. The initial models of this vehicle were not sealed and lacked environmental protection equipment which also forbade their amphibious deployment. The B models are now sealed with overpressure to protect against NBC/CBR threats. This lowered the range, limited fuel capacity, raised the weight, and slowed the vehicle a bit. However they are not rated for Protected Forces duty. They carry four crew, a driver/mechanic, gunner, loader and commander and can carry a small squad of 8 dismounted infantry. These air cushion vehicles, rely on ground effects from vectored thrust to move at NOE but pay double movement for broken ground, on gentle slopes and sparse undergrowth. They may not climb steep slope gradients, enter boulder fields nor dense undergrowth. They can't maneuver in the absence of an atmosphere. They require water access or wide-open spaces to fully exploit their top speed. The vehicle has two speeds depending if the plasma gun is ON or OFF. The loader is responsible for reloading the Stalker TAC missile system. One mechanic/technician with a little extra help, tools and access to a workshop can maintain one of these vehicles.

1MW Rapid Pulse Plasma Gun[edit]

There is a 3.125m3 turret (0.5m tall, 2.5m wide, 2.5m long) on the chassis deck. In this turret is mounted a 1MW input rapid pulse plasma gun with TL–11 point defense fire control. The system rolls 8d6 versus enemy fire missions. The highly specialized weapon is nicknamed the Flare Gun as it is of little threat to personnel or vehicles. Each pulse has a 0.125MW input and a 0.03MW output which results in its short range and very low penetration. The weapon is very accurate but has no burst radius, nor secondary penetration. The weapon only requires a single gunner to operate. It is automatically spotted when it fires. It can engage 8 target in 15 seconds and it has the following direct fire characteristics:

Direct Fire Characteristics: 1MW Rapid Pulse Plasma Gun
Effective Range Long Range Extreme Range
173m (3)+4 346m (1)+4 692m (0)+4

7mm Gatling Gun[edit]

Mounted in the fully stabilized turret with the rapid pulse plasma gun is a 7mm Gatling gun. Its ROF is 1,280 and can engage 16 targets/fire phase and has a +5 signature when it fires. There is storage for 40,000 rounds, which is enough for 31.25 fire phases. Its direct fire characteristics are as follows:

Direct Fire Characteristics: 7mm Gatling Gun
Effective Range Long Range Extreme Range
400m (3) +8 750m (2) +6 1,200m (2) +3

4cm RAM Automatic Grenade Launcher[edit]

A 4cm RAM Auto Grenade Launcher TL–11 is also mounted in the stabilized turret on the chassis deck. The 4cm RAM automatic grenade launcher is belt fed from storage for 1,600 HEAP grenades which is enough for 20 fire phases. It has a +2 signature when it fires and can engage 2 targets. Its direct fire characteristics are:

Direct Fire Characteristics: 4cm RAM AGL w/HEAP 36 Grenades
Effective Range Long Range Extreme Range
370 m (36)+4 750 m (36)+3 1500 m (36)+2

The Stalker TAC Missile System[edit]

There is a 50kg launch tube in the front of the turret on the chassis deck. There are no internal guidance packages on board. There are 20 missiles included in the vehicle's purchase price and can easily reloaded by a single crew member. The missiles use a 19cm 5.25kg HEAP 52 warhead and are fitted with homing guidance for fire and forget (FAF) performance. This system is intended for use against armored targets.

Characteristics: HEAP 52 TAC Missiles
Type Range Price
(20) Homing 44km or 34km +10 DM hypervelocity Cr375.25

Power / Equipment[edit]

Power: a small 2 megawatt output fusion powerplant
consumes 3 liters of fuel/ hour; fuel capacity 4,137.36875 liters, enough for 1,379 hours or 57 days, and a 126,868km range.
The power to weight ratio is 85 weapon OFF and 42 weapon ON.
  • Sealed with overpressure versus NBC/CBR threats
  • 5,000 Power radio
  • 50 Power Target Acquisition RADAR
  • Thermal and Image Enhancement for vision blocks and night operations
  • Map Box w/ GPS
  • 3 Smoke
