Arnakhish is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Arnakhish, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Kankii.

Native Lifeform: Arnakhishan Hoopfish

The native giant Hoopfish and the hoopfish eggs have both been considered delicacies. Local scientists maintain that the harvesting has done great damage to the planetary ecosystem, and that the hoopfish are nearing extinction. The extremist Free Seas League has been carrying out a campaign of violence against the corporations, who, in response have hired a number of mercenary groups to protect their operations. The Family of Flesh, recruiting from members of the more militant Khandan cults, is a primary source of these units. The League, using an unknown funding source, has been steadily increasing the scope and sophistication of its activities.

History and Background

The government of the water world of Arnakhish licenses several off-world food corporations to harvest marine life to provide protein supplements for the densely populated world of Khandi (Dagudashaag 2119).
