A fibrous tuber native to Vland (Vland 1717), almost entirely carbohydrate. Argu is one of the few Vilani foodstuffs that requires only soaking and boiling to be rendered digestible. Because of the simplicity of the preparation, use of Argu is one of the first food preparation techniques taught to Shugilii apprentices. Usually the preparation has a nutty flavor due to the remaining traces of incompatible proteins. Only the best Shugilii can make a completely flavorless Argu.
