Anzitarri (Creature) Physiology & Ecology[edit]
The Anzitarri, also known as a Magnetic Lamprey or Shock Jelly, is a dark grey limbless jellyfish which attaches itself to large hosts with iron-rich blood, and as an ergovore and magnetovore, uses the moving bioenergy in its veins to charge its own metabolism. It does not actually break the skin, but the full-body contact absorbs energy from the bloodstream. They also scoop biological matter that floats by. Anzitarri have also been seen resting on mineral deposits with high iron content. These peaceful ergovores are most often encountered when they latch onto ships, and draw power through the hull through induction.
When surprised, the shock jelly earns its name by discharging electrical current, stunning biological and mechanical targets.
