Ansiblens is a high-population, pre-rich garden world with a billion or more sophonts in population size, and a near-ideal utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Zhodani Consulate in Naianch Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector in the Province of Iadr Nsobl.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
No information yet available.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This is an Unabsorbed World (equivalent to Amber Zone); claimed and governed by the Zhodani Consulate but not absorbed into the mainstream of Zhodani culture.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Ansiblens has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- A minority of popular Zhodani foodstuffs are not digestible by other Human races; eating them may result in food poisoning. Restaurants and food shops in regions frequented by non-Zhodani Humans, such as this world's startown, have menus or labels that mark which foods are appropriate for non-Zhodani.
World Population (P)[edit]
Ansiblens has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Languages[edit]
Zdetl: The common language of the Zhodani Consulate.
World Government (G)[edit]
Ansiblens is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
The Zhodani Consulate maintains itself through a variety of taxes on goods and services. Each council -- planetary or higher -- has the authority to levy a tax on gross income to support services like hospitals, emergency and transport services, or the Tavrchedl'.
World Military[edit]
An Unabsorbed World is not usually permitted to maintain armed forces (other than police).
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Ansiblens has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
Three broad categories of crime are recognized by the Zhodani Consulate: inadvertent, incited, and insane. The concept of premeditated crime for personal gain fits under the insane heading.
- Inadvertent crime is an unintentional violation or infraction of the law, resulting from inattention. For minor cases the usual punishment is a small fine.
- Incited crime is an infraction of a law brought about by another, often resulting from an overreaction to inadvertent crime or misfortune. The solution is re-education.
- Insane crime is a general heading for most major crimes against property or individuals.
World Culture[edit]
The Zhodani Consulate promotes the belief system of Tavrziansh, Morality's Path.
