First Imperial Vilani Scientist/Explorers discover remains of a primitive alien culture with elaborate stone buildings. They feature painted stone columns, and left ruins on a planet with broad steppes. Their metal weapons and tools were crudely forged. They used stringed instruments, and constructed ritualistic burial barrows. They were farmers and had sedentary life styles with domesticated animals for food. They may have been wiped out by Vargr bacterialogical weapons.
