The local government names a new consul. He crosses the rift with an army of 15 divisions of fresh troops. He lays siege to several worlds and establishes a frontier star port to allow reinforcements to land. A fleet of 300 war cruisers occupies strategic positions throughout these systems preventing wilderness refueling with their blockades. This cuts off enemy lines of communication. The enemy headquarters is eventually located and a force is dispatched to capture the enemy officers. With access to these captured ports, fleet anchorage is established and a supply depot is constructed. Nearby garrisons are seized and other enemy headquarters elements are found using the captured signal intel and code decryption, which the enemy fails to realize are in allied hands. The local general retreats with a force of 2,000 cavalry. Cut off from advanced technology resupply and reinforcements, one third of the force is lost to malnutrition, disease and desertion during the subsequent campaigns. Enemy naval forces attempt to breakthrough and are defeated. A fleet of 60 warships, including a treasure ship retreat, fleeing allied forces. They establish a new colony on an undeveloped world. On this isolated desert planet, a colonial fortress complex is completed. The local governor’s construction includes an armory, barracks, storehouses and a palace.
