Nice. There's plenty of logos here that would benefit from being vectorized. Patrick Morris Miller (talk) 21:40, 7 December 2023 (EST)
The really cool thing is that we could just have a base SVG and then dynamically recompose it with css or templates to serve any purpose. For instance the vectorised logo above can show a blue, or black sunburst depending on the category you're looking at; or the white text can shift to black when using light mode etc. We'll need to allow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgFileExtensions and probably add something to common.css or js. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/SVG Korok (talk) 12:13, 8 December 2023 (EST)
I was pretty sure SVG was enabled here. I'll take another look . Tjoneslo (talk) 14:29, 8 December 2023 (EST)

The main design question I'm considering is, how clean and away from the old hand drawn look can we get? Korok (talk) 03:54, 10 December 2023 (EST)

Having read through the lengthy documentation to enable SVGs, I don't have access to the underlying server enough to install software (like ImageMagick or Inkscape). But i did find the Native SVG Handler which allows the Mediawiki to send the SVG files directly to the browser as an image. Which most modern browsers know how to render. So this should enable the Wiki to use the SVG files. I also added the SVG extension to $wgFileExtensions.
