Notes (2025)[edit]
Note that the relationship between House Caranda and House Aledon is unclear.
- Are they the same family with a name change (by deliberate choice or via a significant marriage into another family)?
- - "Ikrin" linguistically seems to be a variant version of the name "Caranda" (and "Caranda" seems to derive from the Vilani root "Karand" or "Karun" (= Prince/King or Emperor).
- - Why do the "Ikrin" Dukes & Consorts names become Zhodani in form shortly after the Psionics Suppressions (and then subsequently either Zhodani or Vilani in Zhodani-style "singular" noble-name custom)? - Who was Ruover Ikrin's Consort?
- - Why do the Dukes' names revert to Galanglic given names and why does the family name change to "Aledon" shortly before/during the Third Frontier War? - (See harmonized Family Tree on Main Page)
- - What are we not being told?
