A Jump Shoal is an area of jump space that constitutes a spacetime anomaly.

It has the following observable effects:
- Greater fuel use
- Minimum jump drive size to cross, smaller jump drives are simply trapped.

This Astrographic Phenomenon like many other anomalies is poorly understood.
The Hoydell's Chaos anomaly in coreward Kruse Sector has features of a jump shoal, as well as those of a Jump Reef.
