Description

An Earth based company that contracted for the guidance and control systems on the ships of the Fleet.

History

The guidance and control systems for the Fleet required the ships get up to speed, cruise towards Alpha Centauri and then slow and stop when they arrived - all the while keeping the passengers and cargo safe. At least 50% of the fleet failed to arrive at its destination and it is possible, 50% was lost. This company has been blamed for the issues that caused the surviving 50% of the Fleet to end up at New Earth.

Some academics suggest that the company may not have been the direct cause of the issue - it is suspected that the software faults found were deliberate sabotage - but the company was also responsible for software security and, even under this scenario, blame cannot be placed elsewhere.
