Anshu is a nonindustrial, rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy is bustling and an increase in living conditions is expected in the near future.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector in the Domain of Vland.
  • This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
  • During the Long Night this world was named Gin.

Description (Planetology)

Anshu system contains a Naval base, a modest shipyard, and a class A starport with facilities without par in the subsector. The climate is pleasant, there are many island chains and small continents offering a variety of conditions and facilities. The local produce is excellent.

Visitors considering skimming at the system gas giants are advised that Anshu III and Anshu IV are under naval restrictions. Skimming is permitted at Anshu VII, but as this lies over 1200 AU out, beyond the orbit of the companion red dwarf.

Anshu has two stars in the star system.

History & Background (Dossier)

The system government acts as if were a civilian wing of the Imperial Fleet, and the high law level reflects restrictions on civilians: certain areas are restricted to military access and civilians may not bear arms. The locals do not object as they are well compensated for running the R&R facilities. The government of Anshu is at pains to stress the system is not under martial law; the ruling council merely takes appropriate counseling from the Navy.

The massive combine-farms which dot the planet's surface are run almost totally automatically and, by tradition, are run quite separately from the main government by the Searn board. Searn is a seed harvested for its oils, and a major export from Anshu. A wide variety of produce is exported throughout the subsector, with delicacies most often shipped to Iiradu.
