Members of the garrison from Dhon (world) serve on Seich (world) for a four year term before being rotated home.
The Dhon Marine Lift Rifle Battalion, is an elite Protected Forces unit composed of 662 marines. These marines are trained in the use of vacuum suits, snub pistols and accelerator rifles. They are also trained for survival on vacuum worlds, Zero-G maneuvers and Zero-G combat. They can deploy on the surface of the moon of Ditter and be used as ship's troops for boarding actions, commando assaults and starport security. The battalion is commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel and is comprised of the following units:
- Headquarters and Headquarters Company has 102 Marines, and consists of the following:
- Command Post: with 2 Command APC with 2 Officers, SNCO, 13 Enlisted
- Medical Platoon: with 1 Battalion Aid Station 4 Doctors, 5 Ambulances with Company Clearing Stations 7 Nurses, 15 Medics with Medical Kits
- Maintenance Platoon: with 2 Workshop Sleds, 2 Transports w/40 Vehicle Mechanics/Armorers/Electrical Technicians
- Quarter Master Platoon: with 10 Drivers 10 Cargo Sleds
- Mess Platoon:with 10 Cooks and 5 Field Kitchens
- (4) Mechanized Infantry Companies with a total of 560 marines. Each company has 1 Command APC with 8 crew and command personnel which includes the unit's CO and XO, and 6 other NCOs. Each company also has x6 Seich class 8T M-2 Grav APCs with 18 crew, and 114 Dismounts. The 140 strong company has 1 CP and 3 Platoons. Each platoon in the company has 44 marines and 2 APCs.
A formerly mothballed destroyer from the naval reserves has been assigned to the marine unit. This naval crewed vessel can provide orbital support and limited transport. Reclassified as the only member of the Seich class, the receipt of this Destroyer was seen as an honor among military circles, who were grateful for its permanent redeployment.
