The Eddo's Folly Subsector, originally called the Piltnam Subsector, was renamed in 1037 after an incident involving the test of the first Varan Hop drive. The ship did successfully enter jumpspace at Kane (Mikhail 2116), bound for C-2206, but was never heard from again. Local sensors detected a massive anti-matter energy surge just as the ship entered jumpspace. The ship was presumed destroyed.

Unknown to the Varans, the ship actually misjumped, ending its journey in the Spinward Marches Sector. The main ship was destroyed, shortly after exiting jumpspace, when the anti-matter containment system failed. The crew successfully abandoned ship in escape pods.

The survivors, including the parents of Dalthor Et Magera, integrated themselves into Imperial Society, with the assistance of the Duke of Regina.

No Varan presence exists in this subsector, save that of automated early warning probes.
