The Polyphemes are a primitive hunter/gatherer society native to Htalrea (Reaver's Deep 1224) and are to be found in the northern of the two main continents. Massive bipeds with prominent external ears, a single large eye, and powerful bodies, the Polyphemes of Htalrea were only recently contacted by human traders, and are still only poorly understood.
They have been described as proud and independent having evolved an elaborate ritual surrounding trade in which they produce examples of the items they are interested in to demonstrate that they can produce them as well and that they do not "need" them. They will furthermore expect those they trade with to produce an example of the items they wish or the exchange will become "unthinkable".
