The Shigakham Intersection is an astrographic feature located in the Daibei Sector.
Description / Specifications
The Shigakham Intersection is a cluster of twenty-nine systems located in four subsectors (Alun Subsector, Amdani Subsector, Outback Subsector and Standish Subsector).
- All twenty-nine of the worlds in this cluster are located in the Daibei Sector (Botirill, Burnaby, Cobald, Corvus, Diamond Head, Eketta, Enlu, Epkiip, Horsefly, Kagusamar, Kiinia, Kikish, Marathon, Parnassis, Reyivik, Salona, Scepter, Shigakham, Shurugashad, Siikanaa, Tarens, Tarma, Tower, Tranquility, Ulikaari, Unkashe, Vaarini, Vettesse and Wedge)
History & Background / Dossier
The highest population world in the cluster, with approximately forty billion inhabitants, is Unkashe (Amdani Subsector), 2011). The lowest population world in the cluster is Cobald (Standish Subsector, 2107) with approximately ten inhabitants.
The cluster is named for the world Shigakham (Standish Subsector), 1810). While this world does have a Class A Starport, its low population would normally prevent it from being the namesake of an entire cluster. However, Shigakham sits within one parsec of the intersection of the four subsectors the cluster is located in. It should also be noted that all twenty-eight remaining worlds of the cluster are no further than five parsecs from Shigakham. These factors lead to the naming of the cluster for this central system.
