The Grand Duke was the head of state on the planet Sylea beginning in Year -650, when the Kingdom of Sylea became the Sylean Federation.
- The office of Grand Duke was nominally elected instead of being a hereditary monarchy, and the Grand Duke was elected for life by the Sylean Grand Senate.
- In practice, in the final century or so of the Federation, before it became the Third Imperium in Year 0, the position was in practice monopolized by members of the Zhunastu family.
