The Ministry of Conservation oversees the preservation of nonrenewable resources, controls exploitation of of renewable ones, and (in cooperation with the IISS) is responsible for the protection of primitive societies within the Imperium. The Ministry also oversees terraforming projects and programs that involve genetic engineering to adapt populations to local conditions.
