Douglas E. Berry was a well-known Traveller author, contributor, and fan.

Description (Biography)[edit]

Doug lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was one of the organizers of the annual Travellers' Aid Society parties at local science-fiction conventions.

  • In real life, he was a truck driver and was married to Kirsten (who edits all his work prior to submission) since 1991.
  • Prior to his work in the Traveller community, Doug served in the US Army Infantry in a variety of assignments.
  • Douglas passed away in September 2023, and will be remembered for his many contributions to Traveller.

Longtime Traveller Mailing List contributor Douglas E. Berry (usually simply Doug Berry) wrote the GURPS Traveller supplement GURPS Traveller: Ground Forces, co-authored At Close Quarters for BITS with James Lindsay and has contributed to multiple Traveller products.

  • Doug was perhaps best known for introducing penguins into Traveller canon.
