Akanarzh is a dish, beloved of the Vargr peoples, which consists primarily of raw, fermented meat. The dish is made from finely chopped meat which is mixed with a carbohydrate base, spice-pods, and seasonings. The meat is packed into a rectangular dish, lined with aromatic leaves, covered with more leaves, weighted, and left to ferment for thirty days or so.
