The term Chimera specifically means that the creature/species was Geneered from 2 or more species, or that a single species was used as a base species to which were added significant genetic modification sequences from one or more additional species. Simple engineered genetic modifications of aspects of existing species does not qualify it as a Chimera - it must be a hybrid or fusion of two or more distinct independently viable species in some way.
