It was founded by Joachim and Jennifer Hefrin in 745 after a failed attempt at political reform in the Corellan League. The Hefrin Colony was supposed to be a showcase of a functioning interstellar federation, but Joachim's early death and chronic underfunding undermined the effort.
With a population of only 3.5 million, the Hefrin Colony still exists after more than three centuries, but is a pale reflection of its ideal.
