Description (Astrography & Planetology)
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
System Data
Fanch-Redeum System
The primary is Fanch, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.352 Sols, a mass of 0.774 Sols, and a diameter of 1.168 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (II) a very thin atmosphere radworld. (III-I) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, and (III-II) Redeum, designated the mainworld, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (IV) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (V) a ringed large gas giant, (VI) a small gas giant, and (VII) a ringed small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III-II) Redeum
(III-II) Redeum is designated the mainworld. It orbits Fanch at a mean distance of 0.83 AU (124.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 313 days 23 hours and a rotation period of 21.5 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Redeum has a diameter of 7,728 km, a density of 5.27 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.58 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.87 bar and a composition of nitrogen 79% (N2), 20% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 77% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 4°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 188 million km², Water surface area: 145 million km², Land surface area: 43 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Fanch-Redeum System
The warm hospitable world lying in orbital position (III-I) (within the habitable zone) has extensive native life, consisting of multicellular mesophile organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Redeum, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
