I drew inspiration form the Imperial Japanese Navy Special Naval Landing Force of the 2nd World War. Not wanting to mirrior the Imperial Marines, it was the authors opinion the the conception of the ZNSLF filed the niche without creating another cliche. | ||

For the Zhodani Consulate the ZNSLF serve aboard naval vessels in much the same way as Imperial Marines.
Description (Specifications)
The Zhodani Naval Special Landing Force are not a separate branch or service within the Zhodani Combined Intersteller Forces . They are specially selected , trained and equipped members of the Consulate Navy. The ZNSLF is primarily tasked with duties supporting the fleet operations and securing the Consulate naval facilities. Groupments are formed in the advent of the seizure and construction of naval bases. The ZNSLF is uniformly trained to operate in hostile environmental conditions such as vacuums, exotic atmospheres, and zero gravity environments.
Crovettes carry usuailly a section, frigate sor corvette transports a Detachment or "half-platoon", Cruisers typically carry a platoon or more of these troopers. They are equipped with TL–14 Fusion Weapons and Battledress whenever possible. At the very least they have Combat Armor and Gauss Rifles.

Author’s Note
The creation of the Naval Special Landing Force was non-canon and it attempted to resolve the issue presented in the conflicting canon vs what later became non-canon in the classic traveller universe regarding Zhodani Marines or Army troops as “Ship’s Troops”. I drew inspiration form the Imperial Japanese Navy Special Naval Landing Force of the 2nd World War. Not wanting to mirrior the Imperial Marines, it was the authors opinion the the conception of the ZNSLF filed the niche without creating another cliche.
