!!xug'k leaves are perfectly legal in the Two Thousand Worlds and not particularly expensive (Cr25 to Cr50 per kilogram) while being quite easy to obtain. For Humans and Vargr Highleaf is one of the most potent addictive drugs known. A 10.0 gram dose, taken by chewing the leaves, gives the user a powerful sense of euphoria and giddiness for eight to fourteen hours. The drug interferes with the judgment, cognitive abilities, and reaction time of the user. The drug is physically addicting, with the withdrawal symptoms and cravings suddenly emerging days or weeks after the last consumption.
Highleaf is illegal on most worlds in the Third Imperium and Vargr Extents, and usually unobtainable. Human and Vargr smugglers often slip into K'kree Space to import the drug.
