Description / Specifications

A vast empty region of space generally running spinward-rimward and covering many hundreds of sectors. While they do contain occasional isolated stars, for the most part the Void Sectors are empty. The far (rimward) edge of the Great Void has never been charted.

History & Background / Dossier

  • The sectors that make up the Distant Fringe are generally considered to lie at the rimward edge of the spiral arm.
  • The Great Void is sometimes referred to as "Old Man Void", particularly in poetry and song.
