Viking started off as a small company with a single Solomani tramp liner, based on Engrange (Spinward Marches 0425). It offered cheap cruises to graduating Darrians who wished to visit the other Confederation worlds nearby. The trips proved to be inordinately popular, despite the company being censured for allowing unsupervised raucous parties and vast amounts of alcohol consumed aboard.
