Longtime Traveller Mailing List contributor Douglas E. Berry (usually simply Doug Berry) wrote the GURPS Traveller supplement GURPS Traveller: Ground Forces, co-authored At Close Quartersfor BITS with James Lindsay and has contributed to multiple Traveller products.
Prior to his work in the Traveller community, Doug served in the US Army Infantry in a variety of assignments. Doug is perhaps best known for introducing penguins into Traveller canon.
Doug lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is one of the organizers of the annual Travellers' Aid Society parties at local science-fiction conventions. In real life, he is a truck driver and has been married to Kirsten (who edits all his work prior to submission) since 1991.
