The two stars named Zeta Reticuli form a wide binary star system system composed of two yellow-white G-type main sequence stars.

  • Both stars are members of the Zeta Herculis Moving Group.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The distance between Zeta1 Reticuli and Zeta2 Reticuli is ~3,750AU, yielding an orbital period of ~170,000 years or more.

  • Zeta2 Reticuli is orbited by a circumstellar debris disk at a distance of ~100AU.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The two stars Zeta1 Reticuli and Zeta2 Reticuli lie approximately 12.0pc from Terra, and are located in a Rimtrailing/Trailing direction from Terra at bearing 279.1o and 279.0o Galactic Longitude, respectively, and -47.2o South Galactic Latitude.
