Eldest son of Prince Bruce III and Catherine Moore.
Acceding to the throne at his father's retirement, William ruled for five years before resigning after a crippling head injury suffered during a ceremonial swordfight at Clan MacArthur's clan games.
He had two daughters (by his second wife, Ann Ferris, Dutchess of Loughnaneshire), and no sons.
