The White Phosphorous Grenade can provide short term protection against visual and IR observation
Description (Specifications)[edit]
White Phosphorous Grenades are designed to allow Infantry to temporarily screen their movements from visual and IR observation. Each grenade will create a cloud of smoke about 20m across that lasts from a few seconds (high-gravity, strong wind) upwards. Note that the smoke cloud is itself highly visible to optical and IR observation.
n.b. White Phosphorous will burn only and anywhere that there is oxygen - This grenade will only work in Atmosphere classes 4-9.
White Phosphorous burns in the presence of oxygen. It does NOT go out even when damped with water and has to be removed and isolated from oxygen before it will go out. It will set fire to many materials in its vicinity because of the temperature of its combustion.
Also known as an Incendiary Grenade.
