Voyagers' Bones

Voyagers' Bones are stony structures resembling gigantic ribcages, usually clustered into small “compounds”, found on a number of worlds within the Distant Fringe.

Description / Specifications

Voyagers' Bones are made of a complex highly resilient material that appears to be manufactured rather than being of organic origin, despite showing distinct aspects of biological purpose and funcion at a microscopic level. No known organism within the Distant Fringe region has a biochemistry that produces anything resembling Voyagers' Bones.

History & Background / Dossier

Dating Voyagers' Bones has proven to be difficult, but environmental and geological evidence indicates that they are approximately 250,000–300,000 years old.

• Speculation about the origins of the artifacts' is of course rife. The events of Slaver Year (the Incursion of 4498), when it was discovered that a collection of these artefacts existed at the center of the energy dome associated with that event, has added a level of mystery.
