I have started to enter GURPS data (especially GT:Interstellar Wars, but I will add GT:Rim of Fire world data). Despite that GURPS does not conform with Traveller norms (Tech Levels, World data) is this data worth putting in?

And i need to learn how to create templates, so world data can be added with GURPS data (I really wish GT used UWP....) Voradams 00:07, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Do you want a tutorial on creating templates, some suggestions on how to figure it out, or do you want me to do the work? Tjoneslo 03:55, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Some sudgestions and a tutorial. If i cant figure it, i can allways post the stuff i have in an unformatted text file.
And I need to use Word to check the spelling....we use ie6 at work, no way I can get Firefox on here :-( Voradams 04:55, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
First for some suggestions.
  1. Start small, don't try and replicate the UWP template (one of our most complex) as your first template.
  2. Experiment, feel free to create any number of small templates to see how stuff works. I've created a sandbox page User:Tjoneslo/sandbox for doing exactly this.
  3. Review other templates, the real magic of a template is in the page source, not in the page text.
  4. Steal from other templates. If you see something you think is cool on a template, never be afraid to make a copy of it for your own templates (See item 2). All of the templates here, I borrowed from other places and modified to suit our needs.

I stole the UWP template for the GURPS World Template.....gah, road smash! every field became a template, because i used GT:Interstellar War in the discriptions! Thanks for the help!Voradams 23:46, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok, mark 1 of the template Template:GURPS Worlds seems to work. However, it does not sit flush under the UWP template. Can someone check please and send me feedback? Voradams 03:52, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Fixed. This is a CSS trick to fix. Tjoneslo 13:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
